Getting Started

Customize your Facebook fundraising page. If you haven't already, you can upload a photo, write a story about why you're participating and more. This is your online donation home to share your story and track donations. Need a graphic or two for your campaign? Click Here.

Make first donation. A great way to kick off your fundraiser is to make the first contribution yourself. Let everyone know you're off and running and encourage others to match your donation.

Ask. Contact everyone you know, such as family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and social media connections. You never know who is willing to contribute unless you ask. You can text, email, call, mail or share online. If you've participated before, reach out to previous donors and ask them to donate again.

Corporate Matching

Ask your company Did you know that some companies offer a fundraising match program? This means a company will match all or some of the funds raised by an employee. Team members should ask employers if they have a matching gift program.

Emails

Send Emails. Social media isn't the only way to raise money. Good old email also works really well. Get the word out and be sure to include a link to your team's fundraising page. Just copy and paste the sample below into an email and customize as needed.

Subject: Support My Texas LODD Task Force Fundraiser

Hi [Name],

I just created a Facebook Fundraiser for my (insert name of event). The event benefits the Texas LODD Task Force. I'm excited to be raising money, and a gift from you would make it possible for the Task Force to continue their mission of caring for Texas first responders that are faced with crisis, injury, or death.
