COVID-19 First Responder Fatalities

We are grieved by the loss of the first responders who have died in the line of duty due to the COVID-19 virus. We honor their sacrifice, remember their loved ones, and carry their legacy forward as we continue to fight this unseen enemy.


What follows is a compilation of the reports, by state, of U.S. fire service personnel, active and retired, who have died of coronavirus-related complications. For cities with multiple diagnoses, the links are ordered chronologically, with the top being the most recent.

Note: Not all of these deaths have been confirmed as line-of-duty deaths by the DOJ.
